Gloucester Rabbit Club Rules .
OBJECTS.
The objects of the Club shall be to help fanciers in all aspects of
rabbit keeping , & to promote the faculty of good husbandry , good
shows & good friendship. RULES. 1 : The name of the Club shall be Gloucester Rabbit Club.
2 : Membership shall be open to any eligible fancier.
3 : The amount of the annual subscription shall be fixed at a
General or Special General Meeting of members & junior members.
Subscriptions shall be due on or after the 1st January ( current for
one year ). Any member under the age of 17 shall be known as a
junior & will not be granted a vote at an AGM or a SGM. However
their opinion is to considered by the adult members. A partnership
shall be entitled to 2 votes.
4 : The financial year shall be from January 1st to December 31st &
the AGM shall be called as soon as practicable , preferably before
the 1st show of the new year.
5 : The Secretary , President or Chairman shall have the power to
call a Special Meeting at any time to discuss the business of the
club.
6 : The Management of the Club shall be vested in the Officers &
the Committee who shall be as follows : President , Vice President ,
Chairman , Hon Secretary , Hon Treasurer , Show Manager , & other
Committee Members as elected at the AGM. The committee shall
have power to appoint a Sub – Committee for any special purpose
relating to the Club's business & appoint junior representatives.
7 : The Secretary shall keep a true record of all members names
etc , & all of all Club business. The Treasurer shall keep a true
record of all accounts & monies paid by the Club & all monies paid to
the Club & present an account of all monies to an AGM or SGM
called for receiving the accounts of the Club. The accounts to
audited by an auditor elected at the AGM.
8 :At suitable intervals if thought to be needed the Secretary can
call a meeting to discuss the business of the club. At a committee
meeting a Quorum shall be : Chairman , Secretary , & 3 other
committee members . At an AGM a Quorum shall be Chairman ,
secretary & four other members of the club. 9 : The Committee shall have the power to co-opt any member for a
special purpose . The co-opted member can vote for that purpose
only.
10 : Any officer or member of the Committee who shall be absent
themselves from 3 consecutive meeting or shows without an apology
shall be deemed to have resigned.
11 : The members shall indemnify the officers & Committee against
loss or liability incurred by them or by reasons of their holding
office provided any such loss or liability has been occurred with the
sanction & instruction of the committee. The Club also shall not be
liable for any liability incurred by any other person except on the
instruction of the committee .
12 : The Treasurer & 2 other members of the committee shall sign
cheques on behalf of the club. Any 2 to sign.
13 : The custody of the property belonging to the club shall be
vested in the Officers & Committee who shall as far is reasonable
be responsible for its safe keeping.
14 : The Club shall not be dissolved except at an AGM or SGM called
for the purpose & then only on two thirds majority of the members
present. In the event of the Club being dissolved a committee of
members present shall be formed to dispose or retain the said
property for future use as they think advisable .
15 : The Committee shall have the power to deal with any members
who in the view of the Committee shall conduct themselves or act in
any way to bring discredit on the Club. The members under
discussion shall be given the opportunity to answer before the
Committee.
16 : Any objection about the conduct or business of the club or any
exhibit shall be given to the Secretary in writing together with a
fee of £5, which the sum shall be refunded if the Committee uphold
the objection.
17 : The Club shall affiliate to the British Rabbit Council & abide by
their rules..
18 : The Club shall hold at least 5 shows per year , circumstances
permitted.
19 : These rules shall only be altered at the AGM.
20 : In the interpretation of these rules the decisions of the
Committee shall be final , & not subject to appeal at Law.
21 : On payment of a subscription , the member agrees to the rules
& also agrees to uphold them at all times.
22 : These rules become operative from the date of acceptance.
